– Rev. Vickie Woolard, Pastor at Plymouth UMC
On the very last day of Creation, Genesis tells us, “God saw everything that he had made, and indeed, it was very good.” [Genesis 1.31a]
And so it is.
My old doggies are very good, The Lady Bacon and Milo Fuzzbucket and the Princess Sparkle.
The cats are very good, Kiki with her short stubby legs, and Shadow, my mama’s own good girl.
The chickens at the farm, Roscoe the mule and Sugar the horse, very good.
All the great big, wide and wonderful world we live in, very good.
This day, I spent time in front of tanks full of jellyfish, Pacific Sea Nettles, the sign said.
I watched them dance in clear waters, tendrils drifting, waving softly in time to music only they could hear.
Delicate creatures, full of grace, adrift on warm currents, ethereal, mystical.
And very good.
This day, remember who you are, and remember Who it is you belong to.
And remember you are loved.
Cherished.
And very good.
Blessings,
Vickie
