During our most recent Committee on District Superintendency meeting, the idea was proposed for me to create a video addressing questions from across the Beacon District. From this suggestion, the concept of “Ask the DS” was born. To kick things off, an email was sent to the clergy in the Beacon District, inviting them to submit their questions. The goal of this initiative is to provide clergy—and perhaps even some laypeople—with an opportunity to learn more about me as I navigate this new model of District Superintendency, all while continuing to pastor a thriving rural church.
As I travel throughout the Beacon District visiting churches, I look forward to engaging in meaningful one-on-one conversations with clergy and laity as we work together to “Make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.”
Rev. Mary Frances McClure has already shared several thoughtful questions—take a look!
The questions answered in this session:
- How do you prep for sermons?
- Your favorite devotional book?
- Did you always wanna be a pastor?
- How do you remember all the information that a DS has to keep in your brain?
- Talk about the appointive process.
- What do locals know about Avon?
- Who is your favorite person in the Bible?
- Your favorite early church disciple?
- What rejuvenates you after a long week?
