Good afternoon friends. I wanted to quickly say “thank you” to those that were able to join us on our ZOOM call yesterday. I wanted to send this email out for those that were on the call, to make sure I didn’t leave anything out, and for those that couldn’t make it, to bring you up to speed. Roughly, here’s what I heard:
First, for those going to Pilgrimage in person, there was a question about what it may look like once you arrive in Rocky Mount at the host site. I think this link is informative:

If this doesn’t answer your questions, please let me know.
Second, we talked about the need/desire for us to lean into the “connection piece” of our beloved denomination, by making more of an effort to let others know any events going on at your church, or in your community, that others may be interested in. Whether that means posting on the District Youth Facebook page, or email blasts, or other mass communication platforms, let’s advertise some of the good things we are all involved in that may be of interest to the other groups around us.
Third, we talked about Beach Retreat. Given the uncertainties regarding COVID, and the difficulties in planning for a weekend event with so much else going on, the idea was proposed that instead of a full weekend, what if we instead designated a Saturday as ‘District Youth Beach Day” and made it a day full of fellowship, speakers, food, and activity? To that end, we talked about every one of us asking the youth in our groups what they would like to see at such an event: what kinds of things would they want to do? What would feed their souls? What do they hunger for spiritually that we might be able to provide? If we could all start asking these questions, it may go a long way towards making that day something special.
I think those were the main things. If anyone has any questions or comments, please feel free to reach out to me!
God bless!
