Up, Up, Up!!!
Holy Week holds a special place in my heart and in the lives of our family of United Methodists. This week captures so many emotions and the witness of God’s love for us all through Jesus Christ brings a crescendo celebration on Easter morning. The Christian Culture of life, love and hope embodies an expression that the world longs to grasp.
My joy this Easter is enhanced as I celebrate my granddaughter’s first Easter. She is just beginning to experience the culture of my Christian Heritage as each holiday rolls around. With each holiday we tell the stories of how much God loves us.
Recently, her parents found her waking up in the morning. She was quietly walking around the crib with her blanket over her head. It was for me her living into the story of Jesus’ resurrection. After a long night’s sleep, she greeted the new day with joy and hope in the promise of life.
I pray that you find this same joy and hope this Easter as we celebrate Christ’s Resurrection and the promise of own as our lives are hid in Christ.
