Is your church considering forming a mission work team as part of your ministry and outreach? Are you planning or thinking about a 2018 mission trip with your church? Or are you preparing volunteers to serve others in times of crisis, like the aftermath of hurricanes?
Effective training can be the vital difference between a successful mission trip or an outreach experience better forgotten. Team members and team leaders greatly benefit from training. Prepared team leaders will have the tools, insight, and knowledge to successfully plan, organize, train, and lead groups in a mission experience that glorifies God through service done effectively. Team leader training provided by the NC Conference can help leaders accomplish these goals.
A United Methodist Volunteers In Mission (UMVIM) team leader training session will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018, from 9:30 am until 3:00 pm at Ahoskie UMC, 102 Pembroke Ave, Ahoskie, NC 27910. Lunch will be provided. Rev Bill Haddock will be the course facilitator.
Online Pre-registration is required and can be done by visiting NCCUMVIM.org and clicking on the “green” REGISTER button. The cost of the training is $30 and will be collected on the day of the training. Checks should be made payable to “NCC UMVIM.”
